I was raised in Troup County and I am a proud 1996 graduate of Troup High School (Go Tigers!). Not long after graduating high school, I began a career with Troup County Government as a 911 dispatcher. Since 2013, I have had the privilege of serving under Sheriff James Woodruff as the Public Information Officer for the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.
In my current role, I serve as the official spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, acting as the liaison between our office, the media, and the public. I manage our social media accounts and have the privilege of working with young people in our community — bringing school safety programs to our school system and hosting our annual Summer Youth Camp. During critical emergencies, I also work with our local Emergency Management Agency and partner agencies to manage crises and communication with citizens.
Outside of my work with the Sheriff’s Office, I am a Past President and current Board Member of the National Information Officers Association (NIOA), which has over 1,000 members — professional Public Information Officers from across the nation. Locally, I serve on the Executive Board of the United Way of West Georgia.
Working at the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, I see the direct impact that Twin Cedars’ services provide to our community — especially the Children’s Advocacy Center, which helps give a voice to young victims.
